Melissa Biscardi is a concussion clinician, educator, and researcher with a passion for blending science, hands-on skill, and a bit of fun. She’s been a registered nurse since 2006 and an osteopathic practitioner since 2013, led by curiosity and creativity, she is committed to lifelong learning and refusing to settle for “good enough” when it comes to brain care (for her patients and herself!).
For over a decade, Melissa has run Concussion Rehab — a brain-wise practice built on evidence, results, and play. Beyond patient care, she mentors clinicians across disciplines, helping them sharpen their skills and deliver top-tier concussion management.
Her academic path is just as trailblazing. She completed a Master of Science focused on women-specific concussion outcomes — including the first-ever investigation of the novel Anti-Müllerian Hormone in mild traumatic brain injury. More recently she is completing her PhD at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on oculomotor rehabilitation for adults post-concussion, exploring virtual reality and mobile app-based interventions. She also has substantial training in applied neurology, which she blends into her practice, teaching and research.
Melissa has authored two book chapters, numerous peer-reviewed papers, and presented her work on stages and podcasts around the world. She’s also the creator of the Brain Tool Kit app, designed to make evidence-based concussion rehab exercises accessible anytime, anywhere.
When she’s not deep in research or in clinic, you’ll find her hiking or climbing in the mountains, recharging with family, or hanging out with her three-legged cat — all while plotting the next big leap in concussion care.
